I started working with Allison in 2017. I had just gotten out of prison and after a relapse I was ordered to attend treatment. I was boastful and full of false pride. I tried to project a person that needed nothing and had all the answers.  In our sessions, I heard words that I hadn’t heard in over 20 years. She told me that I mattered and that I was important. These words not only baffled me, but I could tell that she meant them and cared. It had been years since I felt like someone cared if I lived or died. My life up to that point had been drug fueled with one bad decision after the other. Drugs had completely consumed me. I had no idea who the real me was. I knew that every time I had relapsed and tried to get clean, I was safe in sharing with Allison; not once did I ever feel alone. Support was there every step of the way to help me find my way to becoming who I am today. She never gave up on me.

Today I can proudly say, since I started that journey almost 3 years ago, I now have over 2 years clean without drugs and I haven’t smoked cigarettes in over 18 months. I am now a full time student working towards and achieving my personal goals and dreams. I now have relationships that I thought were unrepairable; I have my family and friends in my life! I am a new man because someone cared enough. I now know that the only limits are those that I put on myself.
